Spear of Destiny

Spear of Destiny

There is more to just a few flying discs reportedly being in the hands of the German powers in and before the Second World War.  There was the Thule Society, the Vril Society and the Black Sun Society.  Some argue that these societies were the power in Germany at that time.  A popular culture and mystique has been built up surrounding these.

The German command was interested in many anomalies. Perhaps the foremost was the lance that was used to kill Jesus Christ by the Roman Centurion named Longinus.

This spear has been also known as the Holy Lance.

One story of this lance is that Longinus was a follower of Jesus.  He was assigned the guard of when Jesus was put on the cross.  For Jesus to be recognized as the Messiah, he had to die before 6 pm local time. That was the local Judaic laws.

The story goes that Longinus was assigned the task, or took it upon himself, to make sure that Jesus was dead by that time.  Thus, we see it recorded that Longinus lanced Jesus and subsequently Jesus was pronounced dead.  Another story is that to save Jesus having his legs broken by the Romans to hasten his death, Longinus speared Jesus first.

The lance or spear, was to become known as the Spear of Destiny.  It was said that whoever processed the spear would rule the world. And so, that spear made its way to Europe, and was in the hands of many, even the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.

The spear was used by Crusaders against the Muslims.  This can be seen depicted in medieval paintings below.

Eventually that spear found its way into the Hapsburg museum, in Austria.  It was said that Hitler would go to the museum, day after day, as a youngster, and stare at the museum.  Hitler was strange and as an artist would take peyote and other drugs.

The days just before the annexing of Austria into Germany Hitler sent the SS to seize the museum, and the Spear of Destiny within it.  The next day his army rolled over the border and took the country.

The Spear of Destiny was found in caves and vaults under the mountains in Bavaria and the spear was returned to the museum, apparently.

The first two photos are of the Spear of Destiny in the museum.  Next are paintings of the spear as it was used in the Crucifixion.  Finally there is Nuremberg and then the book on the subject that this author has read.
